Day 1:  August 5th - Lima


Bienvenidos! Welcome to Peru.

You will be transferred from Lima airport to your hotel.

Day 2:  August 6th - Lima City and Gastronomic Tours

Enjoy some breakfast, then explore Lima with your guide.  Your tour begins with a culinary adventure to a typical bustling Peruvian marketplace. You’ll have the chance to learn to make classic Peruvian dishes like Ceviche and the authentic Pisco Sour drink.

In Lima, we will take you through the ages, beginning in the pre-Hispanic era, moving through colonial times, and finishing with some very modern views of this endlessly interesting city. Sites include a panoramic view of La Huaca Pucllana, historical downtown Lima, San Isidro, and an unforgettable view of the Pacific Ocean from the district of Miraflores.

In the evening, you’ll get to know the nightlife in the bohemian district of Barranco. We’ll end the day with a buffet dinner and spectacular show at the restaurant La Dama Juana.

Day 3:  August 7th - Cusco


This morning we will transfer to the airport for our flight to Cusco. After arrival, we will transfer to our hotel, where you will be having a welcoming reception. Cusco is not just a simple town; it is a place of man-made beauty. Some consider it a time machine of sorts because it is the oldest inhabited city in the western Hemisphere, now called the archeological capital of America, and it is one of the new wonders of the world. 

In the afternoon, the Imperial Cusco City tour starts. You will visit four archaeological sites: Sacsayhuaman, where the Incas showed to the conquistadors the power of their Empire by building an incredible place using huge stones; Q’enqo, a ceremonial center; Pucapucara, a control point that served as a kind of customs office; and Tambomachay, a sacred place where Incas worshiped the water.

Day 4:  August 8th - Sacred Valley

Today we will see the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Along the way, we will stop to take in the iconic view of the Urubamba River that snakes its way through the valley. Your journey continues to the small village of Pisac, with a colorful handicraft market, and the archeological complex of Pisac, where your guide will explain the history and Inca architecture of this wonderful site.

Next stop: Urubamba. Here, we will have lunch at a restaurant that specializes in the regional cuisine. Then we will head to Ollantaytambo, known as the living Inca city because it has kept the originality of the Inca style. An impressive archeological site can be seen here, made up of an enormous sculpture of the main Incan God alled Wiracocha, carved into the mountainside.


Lastly, we will go to the train station to go to Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night.

Day 5:  August 9th – Machu Picchu

We will board the bus to up the winding road to Machu Picchu, amid a spectacular view of the Urubamba River and its canyon. The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will astonish us with its terraces, ceremonial shrines, steps and urban areas. Energy is all around us. Our guide will take us on a 2 hours’ tour around the ruins, enlightening us about the ancient Inca city and enriching us with the Inca’s history.  After the tour, you will have free time to wander around and explore by yourself or you can choose to take a hike to Huayna Picchu, which is very steep and rugged, but more than rewarding. Once you reach the overlook atop the pass, you will get to witness an overhead view of the city that only a handful of people in history have ever seen – past or present.  At the arranged time, we will return to Cusco by train and will be transferred to our hotel.

Day 6:  August 10th - Puno

Providing a path from Cusco to Puno, the “Route of the Sun” offers old fashion Andean countryside, scenery, and Incan ruins. This is by far the most popular and fun way to ride a bus from Cusco to Puno

At 7 am we will leave Cusco on a touristic bus to reach our first destination, Andahuaylillas. There, we will visit the Temple of San Pedro Apostol, known as the Sistine Chapel of America, being a work of the Jesuits dating from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

We will continue with our tour to Raqchi – Temple of Wiracocha. We will stop in Sicuani town to have our buffet lunch. This consists of Andean food that is prepared with typical Peruvian food, international food, and Novo Andina (modern style cuisine drawing from traditional Andean cuisine). After lunch, we will continue our journey and reach the highest point of the route - “The Raya” (14,222 ft). Here, you can enjoy and take pictures of the snowcapped mountain “Chimboya.” Around 2:40 pm we will arrive at the Museum of Pukara litho sculptures and ceramics. We will arrive in Puno around 5:30 pm. Overnight in Puno.

Day 7:  August 11th - Lake Titicaca (Uros & Amantani Islands)

We will go to the pier around 7:45 am and take the motor boat towards our first adventure, The Uros floating islands. We will have the opportunity to walk on the reed islands and interact with the natives. Some of the Uros islands are only 20 meters in length. 

After we will have a wonderful 3-hour boat ride to get to Amantani Island, where we will spend the rest of the day and night. Upon arrival, a group of native families will meet us at the pier, and take us to their homes for lodging and lunch.

In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to trek to the top of the mountain (4,150 meters) to see the Temples of the Pachamama and Pachatata and enjoy the traditional customs of the island people. Soon after nightfall, we descend to the main plaza and meet our local family, and we go back home for dinner. Food and authentic music prepared and performed by your designated family. Overnight at family house.

Day 8:  August 12th - Lake Titicaca (Taquile Island)

After breakfast, we walk down to the harbor to take the boat towards Taquile Island (approximately a 1 hour trip), where we will walk up along a narrow path, enjoying the impressive views of Lake Titicaca.

Taquile is a traditional Quechua speaking community, and full of ancient agricultural terraces. The weaving tradition is part of the culture and goes back to early civilizations; all weaving is done by hand. They are world famous for their intricate and fascinating weaving, and here they make and sell many samples of their work. At the village, you will have free time to explore around on your own, and you can have lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, we will take the return trip to Puno, arriving around 5 pm. You will have time to walk around Puno’s main plaza and then get together for dinner.

Day 9:   August 13th - Puno - Lima

Today you will begin your trip back to where the adventure began. We will take care of all the transportation arrangements to get you back to Lima. We will deliver you in style to the airport, where your flight awaits. We will help with whatever you need: check-ins, tickets, luggage, etc.
