All of these line drawings are large enough to span hundreds of kilometers - the amazing thing is that these figures can only be fully seen from the air, flying over the desert. We will pick you up at the bus station and head to the aerodrome Maria Reiche. You’ll have the opportunity to fly above the desert and see all of these unbelievable lines. Some consider it a time machine of sorts because it is the oldest inhabited city in the western Hemisphere, now called the Archaeological Capital of America, and it is one of the new Wonders of the World. In the afternoon, the Imperial Cusco City tour starts. You will visit four archaeological sites: Sacsayhuaman, where the Incas showed to the conquistadors the power of their Empire by building an incredible place using huge stones; Q’enqo, a ceremonial center; Pucapucara, a control point that served as a kind of customs office; and Tambomachay, a sacred place where Incas worshiped the water. Next stop: Urubamba. Here, we will have lunch at a restaurant that specializes in the regional cuisine. Then we will head to Ollantaytambo, known as the living Inca city because it has kept the originality of the Inca style. An impressive archeological site can be seen here, made up of an enormous sculpture of the main Incan God called Wiracocha, carved into the mountainside. You will take the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, where we will transfer you to your hostel. Included: Sacred Valley tour, entry to all sites, breakfast and lunch Accommodations: Hostel

I went on a group trip with Conquer Peru and it was the most incredible experience! I've never been on a trip that packed SO MANY activities and experiences into two weeks, but I truly feel like I got to see the best of the best. Not only did we travel across the entire country, seeing Machu Picchu and the Amazon, Lima and Lake Titicaca, but we knew every restaurant, hotel, and site we visited was an authentic, high quality experience because of Matilde's expertise and knowledge about Peru. It's so fun to travel with a local who can be both a guide and a friend as you take in all the sights. My favorite part was the unique hotels Matilde found for us, like the bungalows along the Amazon river. And of course, Machu Picchu exceeded all my expectations. It really was the trip of a lifetime, thanks to Conquer Peru's organizing!
